2018 Middle School National Championship Tournament (MSNCT)
Six teams from four Connecticut schools competed at NAQT’s Middle School National Championship Tournament (MSNCT) last weekend. During the preliminary rounds, Greens Farms Academy (Westport) went 7-1, Middlesex A (Darien) went 6-2, Middlesex B went 6-2, and Western (Greenwich) went 5-3 to qualify for the playoffs. The Darien Invitational III was held on October 21st and featured 12 teams from Connecticut and New York. The tournament used DEFT (Darien's Excellent Fall Tournament), a regular-minus difficulty housewrite written by Darien High School's Quiz Bowl team. Connecticut Quiz Bowl teams had a strong showing at Yale University's Fall Academic Tournament (FAcT) on September 16th, 2017, which was a regular-minus difficulty tournament. Schools from Connecticut in attendance included Wilton High School, Greens Farms Academy, Darien High School, E.O. Smith High School, Suffield High School, and Middlesex Middle School.
