2018 NAQT Connecticut State Championships
On March 24th, the 2018 Connecticut State Championships were held at Darien High School using NAQT's IS-174 set. Due to several unforeseen last-minute drops, the tournament’s field size ultimately consisted of 6 teams; teams played a double round robin, and a finals round then determined the winner. Over the months of December, January, and February, Connecticut Quiz Bowl teams have been busy attending tournaments and preparing for the end-of-season State Championship and National tournaments. On October 28th, Hunter College High School hosted its 7th fall novice tournament using the SCOP Novice question set. 8th grader Karsten Rynearson, playing solo for Greens Farms, topped the 28-team field as both the tournament champion and high scorer, defeating Bard A in the finals to win the tournament.
